Shut the front door

What to do with the front door… Jonathan added a screen door a couple of years ago. We love being able to keep it open. And for the record – we do know need to change out the white hinges and handle and will do it before we move back in.  Funny how long these “I’ll get to it…” changes actually take! But – what to do with the glass-ish portion of the door?  The door itself is a beautiful and thick old door. However, what you can’t tell from this photo is that the main panel is plexiglass vs. real glass. It has always bothered me as it feels – and sounds – flimsy. Do we change it out to look like the old seeded glass with the mullions or do we add a stained glass element? The verdict is not out. My bathroom obsession

So, apparently I am obsessed with bathroom fixtures.  It would only make sense as I’m an accessory hoar. I begged and pleaded to keep one of my clawfoot tubs. And while I’m sick and tired of showering in one, I think they are beautiful and want to incorporate one in the guest hall bath. And what fun that this bath has caused.  (NOT!) First we had to get the plumbing up that needed to get this bathroom.  A pipe next to our front door was not in the plans. Thankfully we have found a solution to deal with this by framing both sides of the window at an angle. Funny thing is, when we look at our neighbors’ homes, they have that exact solution.  Phew! My inspiration with painting this tub started early on when I started using houzz.  I was obsessed with recreating this bathroom.  Problem was that this wall sink was discontinued.  I spent hours and hours trying to locate...
