Phew – my head is spinning.  Big time. I’ve learned a lot about construction. One thing I’ve learned is that I don’t want to do it again. I didn’t quite expect the constant need for decisions. All of the time. Anxiety comes along with all these decisions. Getting the little things right has always been a big thing in my book. Vacation is right around the corner. The pressure is on. Gearing up for vacation has been quite the feat. When we get back, the drywall will be finished. Because of this, we’ve been scurrying to make sure that every outlet, light, speaker, etc… is in the right place. Decision after decision after decision. A lot has happened over the last two weeks. We got word that our oven has left the factory in France and is on the boat. We’ll be passing her in the Atlantic.  Because of the size, we had to order a custom hood,...

It’s coming along…

These past couple of weeks I’ve been buried in work. Jonathan and I have taken turns going down to photograph the house.  When it’s his turn and I ask how it’s going –  Jonathan’s standard answer “it’s coming along…” Yeah, I get that.  It IS coming along.  But hurry enough already!  (For those of you that know me well, you know that patience is NOT one of my virtues!) From the outside it almost looks like a house again. The guys are hard at work crafting the siding and shakes. And it is really starting to come together. We are getting ready to head out to our annual vacation for a couple of weeks.  I think by the time we get back it’s going to look like a whole house again – at least from the outside.  I’m certainly ready.  (countdown commences…)...
