A blank canvas

So this happened this week. Jose and his bobcat paid us a visit. They went to town. And that big hole in our backyard went bye-bye. We couldn’t believe that we used ALL of that dirt that we dug up when we did the cellar. And now we have a big clean slate to work with. I’ve already mourned the loss of our once beautiful backyard. And now we are ready for something new and more manageable with the help of our friend – and wonderful landscaper, Tim. Addison is all ready to clean out and use her playhouse again. I don’t blame her....

The Dig

After the demo – came the dig. This happened over two days.   That guy in the little excavator went to town! Several friends have commented and wondered if I’m freaking out. Up until now – I’ve been fine.  Now that there’s a 7′ hole under my house – I’m officially freaking. The next steps are pouring the footings of the foundation. We need some clear weather for this. Look like we are in luck for the rest of the week.  Let’s hope Mother Nature cooperates and we get to pouring. Once again – anybody need any dirt?  We’ve got more than plenty of some fertile Georgia clay...
