My blue world is really a happy place

Blue.  It is my favorite color.  I love so many hues from peacock, to aqua to baby blue to robin’s egg.  Give me shades of blues and greens and I’m one happy camper.  It’s probably not a coincidence that my sign is Cancer – a water sign. My other hero during this renovation (outside of Jonathan) is my friend, and designer, Scott Laslie. Scott and I have traveled in many of the same circles for years in Atlanta.  When we started this project, I reached out to him to help with our interiors. I now know why he has earned such a great reputation. In addition to having impeccable taste, he listens and delivers.  Scott has since moved to Chicago and without even seeing our home, he came back with an incredible design after a few phone conversations and fabric samples. I am so excited about the way this is going to turn out! Obsession and the Sink

I try and take the approach of learning as I go.  As a matter of fact, I really have grown to love to learn.  So, there’s no time like the present to take this opportunity and see what lessons this renovation can teach me. I’ve learned that I may be a little OCD.  I am kind of joking, but also kind of serious. I literally spent hours and hours over a 3-day period obsessing about the powder room sink.  I just couldn’t get it out of my head.   See, one thing that both Jonathan and I are hypersensitive about it making sure the addition doesn’t scream new.  We are going to source out reclaimed flooring and we plan on reusing as much as we can of the materials that will be removed during our renovation. So a blah powder room is simply out of the question. My search started on Houzz (of course!) then moved on to craigslist thanks to some friends’ thoughts from a Facebook post. First I...
