We are really counting down the days now.

1 front

As it stands at the moment, we’ll be back in our home in less than a month. Here’s a recap of the last two weeks.

2 porch rebuild3

When they took up the boards on the front porch everything was rotten underneath.

3 porch rebuild1

So they rebuilt it.

5 front porch finished2

6 front porch

7 front porch finished3

Now we have a beautiful (and structurally sound) front porch!

8 cellar outside stairs

The exterior cellar stairs have been installed.

9 building chase

10 chase above oven

11 chase drywall at oven

The framing crew built the chases in the kitchen.

12 farm sink

Farmhouse sink is in.

13 kitchen counter install

And then the countertops came.

15 master bath

16 master bath vanity

Slowly but surely it’s coming together.

17 tub delivery

18 tub and sink refinished

The vintage tub and sink came back looking sparkly and new.

19 hall bath with refinished flooring

In order to accommodate the tub, the flooring refinishers came and did the hall bath. We got a sneak peak of what our newly refinished floors will look like. We love them!

20 hall bath with fixtures

3rd level bath with fixtures

Then the bath fixtures went in.

21 powder room sink in

And the old sink was installed in the powder room.

22 sink in powder

This made me really, really happy!

23 trim install

The trim guys were here all week finishing up the trim work around the home.

24 wood air vents

And look at these beautiful floor registers they made from the old heart pine wood.

25 choosing screens

We chose our screens for the back porch.

26 cellar stair parts2

The cellar stairs were crafted.

27 cellar stairs assembled

We really love how they turned out!

28 rear deck buildAnd the crew started on the small outside deck.

29 rear building deck

30 rear with deck no roof

31 roof supports for rear deck1

32 roof supports2

33 rear with deck and roof

We wanted a small area that was covered to go in and out of, and also wanted the steps for additional seating when we are entertaining outside.

34 rear deck and roof

A metal roof will go on this portion.

35 back porch looking to roof

Last night we had a glass of wine on the back porch. I cannot say enough how excited we are getting to be coming back into our home. Still feels surreal and not quite ours yet. Tick tock, tick tock…
