It has been  LONG and EXHAUSTING couple of weeks.

But we are in and almost unpacked.

While the movers were busy unloading, Scott and his crew were busy making sure that we’d have beautiful rooms before the first week was over.

They succeeded!

We love our new artwork from Jenny Anderson in the dining room. It goes so well with a piece I got from my parents from the early 1970s.

The music room still has a few items left to go- a chair and blue tile on the lower portion of the mantle – but it’s actively being used by Addison and I – and we’ve have enjoyed plucking on the piano and starting lessons.

The lounge off the kitchen is so comfortable and cozy.

We absolutely love our home. I’m still coming to terms with this new and de-cluttered style, but I really love it and love how much easier it will be to keep up than how we had decorated in the past.

While that was going on, Lara and her crew were unpacking us in an organized fashion. One of the biggest pain points in our old home was the lack of closet space.

Hello space. A linen closet and pantry makes me very happy!

We are getting ready to enjoy our first big entertaining event – Thanksgiving for 17 with most of our family.  Then on Saturday we will have our annual low country boil. It’s so exciting to break in this home with our loved ones.

Then after Thanksgiving we are going to be on the Midtown Neighborhood Association’s Tour of Homes.  We have hired an artist to create a really cool feature in our wine cellar. Wendy is hard at work creating cork walls for our wine cellar that will be ready for this tour.

There is nothing like a deadline to make sure we get everything done. This room is going to be so cool!  Jonathan is in hog heaven.

While there’s still a lot of chaos – we are so happy. The surround sound was installed last Friday and that was the day that brought me to tears. When the music went on, I went outside and laid down on our beautiful swing bed created by Greg and his sons and Kara O’Brien. (I’ll share more about their fabulous work in a future post, but it’s sufficient to say that we absolutely LOVE it.)

We went through a lot of pain to get exactly what we wanted.  And now that we have created it – we are going to enjoy it. There may be times when we won’t want to leave home – and that is not such a bad thing.  We are home and absolutely love it!
