What to do with the front door…

Jonathan added a screen door a couple of years ago. We love being able to keep it open. And for the record – we do know need to change out the white hinges and handle and will do it before we move back in.  Funny how long these “I’ll get to it…” changes actually take!

But – what to do with the glass-ish portion of the door?  The door itself is a beautiful and thick old door.

However, what you can’t tell from this photo is that the main panel is plexiglass vs. real glass. It has always bothered me as it feels – and sounds – flimsy.

Do we change it out to look like the old seeded glass with the mullions or do we add a stained glass element? The verdict is not out. I don’t know how I feel about adding a stained glass element that was not there. But then again, it could be beautiful. We are still noodling, but need to make a decision soon. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?
